Another hard-working NBA owner is being forced to quit today. Today the liberal media has turned its sites on Atlanta Hawks owner Bruce Levenson.
All the way back in 2012, Levenson admittedly sent an email in which he expressed some of his concerns about black people. NBA commissioner Adam Silver must be on Al Sharpton’s blackmail list, because he is agreeing that the email is racist and is happily watching as yet another innocently Jewish owner is being taken to task by the crazy media for using his 1st Amendment rights as an American billionaire.
The NBA launched an official investigation into the supposedly ‘mean’ email, but instead of having his name dragged through the mud ala Donald Sterling, Levenson smartly agreed to just sell his name of the team and keep his pride. He even let the NBA force him to pull a John Kerry backpeddle:
“As Mr. Levenson acknowledged, the views he expressed are entirely unacceptable and are in stark contrast to the core principles of the National Basketball Association. He shared with me how truly remorseful he is for using those hurtful words and how apologetic he is to the entire NBA family – fans, players, team employees, business partners and fellow team owners – for having diverted attention away from our game.
“I commend Mr. Levenson for self-reporting to the league office, for being fully cooperative with the league and its independent investigator, and for putting the best interests of the Hawks, the Atlanta community, and the NBA first.”
USA Today tweeted portions of the email. We can see Levenson just had minor but important concerns, mainly arguing that the Atlanta Haws have too many black fans and those black fans bring all their loud music and fried foods to the games. Having all this hooplah apparently chases away ‘affluent white men and corporate sponsors’. Who wants the CW showing your team, when you could be on NBC! Common sense?
