Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu caused waves of controversy to spread throughout DC after accepting a Republican invitation to speak before Congress only weeks before elections in Israel and without the express consent or knowledge of US President Barack Obama.
Netanyahu used the opportunity before US Congress to warn America, and other nations, of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Netanyahu maintains that America’s current plan to negotiate with Iran in freezing its nuclear plan is a ‘bad deal’ that will end with an Iran that becomes a nuclear power and not only threaten Israel, but other allied nations as well.
